Finance Ministry rejects yields higher than 13 percent at benchmark bonds due in 5 years

The Economy and Finance Ministry (MEF) on Thursday issued benchmark bonds due in 5 years and drew from the market 220.7 million lei at an average yield of 13 percent an year, according to figures sent by the National Bank of Romania (BNR)).
The Economy and Finance Ministry rejected the buying offers submitted by commercial banks for the issue of benchmark bonds which exceeded a level of the requested yield of 13 percent.
The issue of state binds was totally worth 300 million lei and the rate of the coupon stands at 8.25 percent.
The overall offer of the banks was of 657.97 million lei. The nominal value of a benchmark bond is of 10,000 lei.
At the tender submitting buying offers for state bonds were 12 primary dealers - ABN Amro Bank,Alpha Bank Romania, BRD - Groupe Societe Generale, Romanian Commercial Bank (BCR), Transilvania Bank, Bancpost, Citibank Romania, Romanian Loan and Savings Bank (CEC), ING, Romexterra, Raiffeisen Bank and UniCredit Tiriac Bank.
