BNR governor: Any main tax change dilemmatic

Governor of the National Bank of Romania (BNR) Mugur Isarescu said on Wednesday the future Government would have to look more carefully at the manner the budget is structured.

'Any change of the main tax is dilemmatic, we should rather look inside the budget, at the manner it is structured', Isarescu stressed.

Next year's general strengthened budget is built on a deficit of 2 percent of GDP, economic growth at 6 percent and an exchange rate of 3.6 lei to the euro.

The gross domestic product is put at 578.5 billion lei, up from 505 billion lei projected this year.

The budget revenues are put at 224.8 billion lei and expenditure at 236.3 billion lei.
