Sergiu Oprescu, Banker of the Year 2008

Executive head of Alpha Bank Romania Sergiu Oprescu has been designated the Banker of the Year 2008, at Piata Financiara (Financial Market) Gala, for the financial-banking sector in Romania. The prize has been given for the professionalism, clear strategic view and the passion Oprescu has been managing the bank with,' said the organizers, the Fin Media Trust.

The Bank of the Year has been CEC Bank, for continuous, balanced growth, and an active offer, meeting the expectations of its clients.

For the dynamics of the change in the structure of assets, the quality and diversity of funding, Pireaus Bank Romania has received the prize the Corporate Year's Bank.

The Retail Year's Bank prize has gone to the Romanian Commercial Bank, for coverage, for the flexibility and the modernity of its offer.

For the initiative to propose by innovation a plus of comfort for its consumers, the prize for the Best Banking Product has been given to the application Maestro Paypass, of ING Bank Romania.

For the complexity of its offer, demonstrated by the pace of growth and by profitability, the prize for the Year's Insurer has gone to AIG Life Romania.

For an innovating mechanism and a high degree of acceptance, the Piata Financiara magazine has given the prize of the Year's Policy to to the Euromax policy, issued by Allianz-Tiriac Insurance.

For the quality of investments and the capacity to meet the expectations of investors, the Piata Financiara magazine has given the prize for High Performance on the Capital Market to BCR Bonds Fund, managed by BCR Asset Management. For the high dynamics of funding, balanced by profitability, the prize for the Best in Leasing has been given to BCR Leasing Co.
