The Italian company Marcegaglia and the Cluj County Council in January 2009 might sign a contract on transferring a plot of land for a factory making motorcar subassemblies, which will be located in the industrial park at Jucu, Cluj County (central Romania), reads daily Business Standard.
Viorel Gavrea, manager of Tetarom SA, the company managing the industrial parks in Cluj County, made it clear that the Marcegaglia investment would be made in the Tetarom III industrial park in the village of Jucu, on a ten-hectare plot of land. 'It will be an investment amounting to ten million euros at least and there will be three suppliers,' said Gavrea.
The Tetarom manager made it clear that he had talked with Antonio Marcegaglia, CEO of tie above-mentioned company, and he assured him that his company was not affected by the crisis so that the investment at Jucu will continue.
Marcegaglia intends to build at Jucu a factory making airbags and steel protection systems for the automotive industry and the total value of the investment might range between 50 and 80 million euros.
In Cluj County there are three public industrial parks, Tetarom I, II and III, and according to the managers, they will draw total investments amounting to more than 500 million euros.
In August-September about 8.3 million euros were allocated for carrying out some important infrastructure work on lighting, roads, water treatment station, etc, for the Tetarom III industrial park.
Currently this industrial park covers about 160 hectares and 90 of them were taken by Nokia and its suppliers, the remaining part being at the disposal of some new investors.
According to the Tetarom managers, in the time to come they will start the fourth project for a public industrial park, its area being to amount to about 170 hectares.
