Personnel leasing on brink of bankruptcy
AGERPRES - Romanian News Agency - 29 Decembrie 2008
Personnel leasing is becoming unprofitable for the human resource companies because of the large number of recent layoffs, and the incomplete legislation regarding temporary employment. At present, more than half of the revenues of major players come from this business, the Business Standard informs on Wednesday.
Considering that an increasing number of local companies are laying off staff, temporary employees who receive their salaries from recruiting companies are among the first to go. If recruitment companies are unable to find them a new job, they must pay laid off employees their salary for 30 days, in addition to the notice period.
A recruitment company has a monthly gross income of 20-40 euros per employee, while the commission of recruiting companies in other countries in the European Union is ten times higher, the Busiess Standard concluded quoting Cristina Savuica, the Managing Partner of the Lugera&Makler Romania recruitment company, the second-largest firm on this market, as saying.
