Best Reisen hits growth by 13 pct in number of tourists in 2008

Tour operator Best Reisen Romania hit growth by 13 percent in the number of tourists last year compared with 2007, according to a release to Agerpres.
'Although threatened by the financial crisis, the year 2008 proved to be a good one in the end, with the 13-percent growth in the number of tourists we registered against 2007 having represented tourist packages for more than 21,000 people. In 2007, the number of such people who had chosen Best Reisen to arrange their holiday stood at only 19,705,' Best Reisen manager Csaba Garamszegi said.
The representatives of the operator also said in the interval when the crisis showed more visible effects, that was the last quarter of 2008 more precisely, the tour operator recorded a growth by 17 percent in the number of travelers in Romania.
'The destinations available for those Romanians who wanted an exotic holiday were Tunisia and Egypt, which were offers staying valid the entire year, while during the summertime the offers were more diversified, with the Isle of Crete and Turkey being added. Thus, we declare ourselves pleased with how the agency managed to deal with the crisis, with the new year bringing positive signs too,' Csaba Garamszegi concluded.
Best Reisen Romania is part of Best Reisen group, a tour operator with destinations in six countries: Tunisia, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, Hungary, Serbia and Romania. Best Reisen organized holidays for more than 21,000 tourists in Romania only, in 2008, having also opened an working point here back in 2005.
