Romanian stocks up 2% at rising bell, mirroring Wall Street advance

Romania's core bourse, the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE), opened with significant hikes of more than 2 percent on most indexes, with the power sector adding an average 2.88 percent, on slight increases of the U.S. stock markets.
Liquidity fell to 963,400 lei (225,300 euros) from the 1.2 million lei in the previous session.
The BET index of the ten best companies on BSE gained 2.09 percent to 2,834.94 and the BET-C composite index assessing all listed shares without financial companies upped 1.67 percent to 1,876.25.
The BET-FI index of five financial companies known as SIF added 2.71 percent to 14,130.62 and the ROTX index for trading blue-chips in Vienna grew 2.54 percent to 5,846.36.
The BET-XT index of the 25 most liquid stocks climbed 2.25 percent to 279.80 and the BET-NG index of the ten power companies went up 2.37 percent to 401.07.
Stocks markets in the U.S. posted hikes on closing after significant falls during the day, following the depreciation of lenders Citigroup and Bank of America.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) index inched 0.15 percent to 8.212.49 and Nasdaq advanced 1.49 percent to 1.511.84. Standard & Poor's 500 index gained 0.13 percent to 843.74.
In Bucharest, shares of refiner Rompetrol Rafinare (RRC) were the most liquid, totaling deals of 244,800 lei and hiked 7.99 percent to 0.0311 lei. Rompetrol Well Services (PTR) surged 4.43 percent to 0.377 lei.
Lender Banca Transilvania (TLV) appreciated 1.67 percent to 1.22 lei and second Romanian lender by assets BRD SocGen (BRD) gained 1.86 percent to 8.20 lei.
Financial company SIF Transilvania (SIF3) climbed 2.48 percent to 0.331 lei, SIF Oltenia (SIF5) upped 2.44 percent to 0.63 lei, SIF Moldova (SIF2) advanced 3.6 percent to 0.575 lei and SIF Muntenia (SIF4) nudged up 1.53 percent to 0.665 lei.
Oil company Petrom (SNP) went up 2.11 percent to 0.194 lei and electricity transporter Transelectrica (TEL) gained 1.72 percent to 11.80 lei.
