Stock Exchange down 4.6 pct

Quotations of the shares listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) on Wednesday fell in average by 4.62 percent, an evolution tracked by the composite index BET-C, while the shares of the financial investment companies (SIFs) lost 2.90 percent (as mirrored by the BET-FI index).

On the main BVB-Regular market, shares of 54 issuers were traded, out of which 5 saw price appreciation, 2 stagnated and 47 saw a decline in price.

The value of the overall trades on the BVB stood at 2.917 million euros (12.554 million lei), whereas RASDAQ deals stood at at 177,149 euros.

The BET index, reflecting the evolution of 10 most liquid listed shares, dropped 4.69 percent, whereas the ROTX index depreciated by 4.55 percent. The extended blue-chip index BET-XT slumped by 4.16 percent, whilst the BET-NG index of the companies in the energy and utilities sector dropped 5.54 percent.

The most liquid shares were Banca Transilvania - that was subject to trades worth 1.972 million lei; Transgaz - 1.436 million lei; Petrom - 1.146 million lei; Erste Bank - 1.066 million lei and BRD (Romanian Development Bank) - 921,340 lei.
