Two New Partners at Salans Bucharest

Salans Bucharest has promoted two new local partners, Tiberiu Csaki and Claudiu Munteanu-Jipescu. Their promotion comes as a result of their strong performance over the past years.
Both are active in areas of practice that represent a source of growth for the firm in the current economic environment, including energy, restructuring and insolvency, litigation and arbitration, employment and loan work-out and restructuring.
Tiberiu Csaki, leader of Salans' employment, litigation and arbitration and insolvency practice areas in Romania, is an experienced lawyer who has been with the firm for over 12 years. In his many years of practice, Tiberiu has advised a wide variety of clients from oil & gas, cement, chemical, consumer goods, retail, automotive, pharmaceuticals industries or financial institutions. Tiberiu works for clients including Royal Bank of Scotland, DHL, Leoni Wiring Systems France SA, Arcelor Mittal, Arctic, Ciech and Harvard Management.
A graduate of the University of Bucharest Law School, Tiberiu is a member of the Bucharest Bar. He is also a regular contributor to various publications and is a member of INSOL Europe, the European organisation of professionals who specialize in insolvency, bankruptcy and business reconstruction and recovery. According to clients quoted by Chambers and Partners, Tiberiu "is a level-headed figure, recognised for his in-depth analysis and understanding, and for his ability to translate these into persuasive courtroom arguments."
Claudiu Munteanu-Jipescu, who leads Salans energy practice in Romania, has over 10 years of experience in the energy and M&A sector and also advises international clients active in other sectors including public procurement and concessions, automotive or manufacturing. His work includes projects in the energy sector such as advising Continental Wind Partners on the selling of the first significant wind energy project (600MW) in Romania (Dobrogea) to Czech-based CEZ, several projects with GDF Suez, including the refurbishment of Units 3 and 4 of Cernavoda Nuclear Power Plant and setting up of a joint venture with SNN Nuclearelectrica SA. He was part of the team that amended the regulatory framework regarding the electricity generation from hydro sources along with other experts in a project financed by the World Bank.
Claudiu graduated from the University of Bucharest Law School, where he is currently an assistant lecturer and completing his PhD studies in corporate law matters. He also graduated the College Franco-Roumain d'Etudes Europeenes and the Institut de Droit des Affaires N. Titulescu - H. Capitant and received a post-graduate diploma from the Paris I Pantheon-Sorbonne University. Claudiu is a member of the Bucharest Bar. Clients quoted by Chambers and Partners describe Claudiu as "young and enthusiastic and has excellent knowledge of the energy business."
